Truth time. My daily work lunch is a Lean Cuisine at my desk. They’re mostly pretty good and keep me going with not too much effort. Lately, I’ve been trying these Signature Select ones on sale (I mean, $2.50 for a hot lunch isn’t bad on the wallet). They’re the store’s internal brand, and they’re surprisingly good. This chicken parm is the first one I’ve tried that I don’t really care for. My Italian genes gave me an innate allergy to limp pasta and overly-sugared sauce. To be fair, most American pasta sauces contain added sugar, which is why I make my own.

When I’m at work I exist on what ever I come across which could be a pot noodle or two or pot rice, pork pies, energy drinks, etc... literally whatever aisle I work down at work and catches my eye, I take to the till, pay and sit upstairs for half an hour before coming back down and getting on with things longing for the warm embrace of death and eternal sleep waiting for the end of shift at six am.

It’s the British arm of walmart.

Some bits are nice, quite a bit of it is god awful.

Can’t go far wrong with a pork pie.

Or a smoky bacon, pork pie with parsnips and maple syrup.

Fiddly and a little more expense but Devon scones, strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream.

I wouldn’t want to survive on walmart food for long.

Our store while not especially big and certainly not big by U.S. standards has way to much options. 600+ different types, flavours, nationalities, etc... yoghurts. Why does there need to be so many, then we have nearly twice that for beers, same again for wines, etc...

just give me somewhere with less options.

We’ve 500 beers, 73 of those are ‘craft beers’ and the majority of those taste ruddy awful.

100 ciders,

Out of this lot, other than a couple of the Innis & Gunns I only liked the 312 and that is because it was the least awful from the rest.

These are good.

Well the other day I had two egg and bacon butties (heavy on the bacon), great way to start the day.

This morning I upped that to three of them.
